First day of learning to crochet- sucesss!! Thanks to Kevin's mom for teaching me the basics! Now I've just got to learn to practice! I will say...it gets more fun as the day goes on! I may have thrown it down a time or two in frustration. Just a few cozies, and headbands...but maybe I'll move on to bigger and better projects! (no blankets...goodness no, but maybe a hat or something!)

I'm a newbie when it comes to crocheting, too! Don't be scared of blankets. I learned how to do a granny square from this set of videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79zZJjXRfSM&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL and once I mastered the square, I found a yarn I liked and kept repeating the last round to make it a monster granny. So far it's about 17" x 17" but I'm going to keep going until it looks like a real blanket :) It's easy. You can do it, too :)
